Elena is a clinical psychologist specializing in emotional intelligence and resilience building with over 12 years of experience helping individuals navigate complex emotional landscapes. She completed her graduate studies at University College London and conducted research at Harvard's Emotional Intelligence Institute before returning to Cyprus to develop innovative approaches to emotional wellness.

As a certified mindfulness practitioner with over 2,000 hours of training, Elena integrates contemplative practices with evidence-based psychological approaches to create transformative learning experiences. She has facilitated emotional intelligence workshops for organizations across Europe and the Middle East, including healthcare systems, educational institutions, and corporate environments.

Her teaching methodology emphasizes practical application, embodied learning, and sustainable integration. Elena is known for creating safe, supportive environments where participants can explore their emotional landscapes with authenticity and courage.

Do I need previous experience with mindfulness or emotional work?

No previous experience is necessary. The course is designed to be accessible to beginners while still providing depth for those with experience in emotional development or mindfulness practices. We start with foundational concepts and gradually build more advanced skills, meeting you exactly where you are in your journey.

How is this course different from therapy or counseling?

While the course includes therapeutic elements, it differs from therapy in several key ways. The course is educational and skill-building in nature, focused on developing emotional intelligence capabilities in a group setting rather than addressing specific psychological issues individually. We focus on forward-looking skills development rather than processing past trauma, though the skills learned can certainly support therapeutic work you might be doing separately. Some participants find that combining this course with individual therapy creates a powerful synergy for growth.

Will this course help with workplace relationships?

Absolutely! Many of our participants specifically seek this course to enhance their effectiveness in professional settings. The skills you'll develop—such as emotional awareness, empathic communication, conflict resolution, and stress management—are directly applicable to workplace dynamics. How much practice is required outside of course sessions?

For optimal results, we recommend 15-20 minutes of daily practice, primarily focused on mindfulness and emotional awareness exercises. Additionally, there are weekly reflection activities that take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. That said, we understand that life is busy, and any practice is better than none. We work with you to find realistic ways to integrate these practices into your existing routines rather than adding significant time burdens to your schedule.

Is this course suitable for someone experiencing anxiety or depression?

Many participants who experience mild to moderate anxiety or depression have found this course beneficial as a complement to their overall wellness approach. The emotional regulation techniques and resilience practices can be particularly helpful. However, the course is not designed as a replacement for appropriate mental health treatment. We recommend consulting with your mental health provider about whether this course would be supportive for your specific situation, especially if you're experiencing acute or severe symptoms.
